PRESTORY: The opening contest would pit the top two contenders for the junior championship against one another to determine who would get the shot at champion AJ Styles later in the night. Former champion Austin Aries would battle the man who pinned Styles in a non title bout last month, Jeff Hardy. Winner gets the junior title shot against Styles at Eve of Destruction.

AFTERSTORY: Aries picks up the big win and earns his shot at the championship. Aries vowed to recapture the gold he lost in a triple threat bout at Cyber Saturday and he'd get his chance later in the night.


PRESTORY: The eighth annual Guerrero Cup tag team tournament took place over the month of December and came down to two teams vying for the chance to face the tag team champions later in the night. Those two teams were the supreme team of Power Warrior & Genichiro Tenryu who battled their way through the tournament in hopes of gaining one last shot at the Midnights, riding the wave of momentum from Power Warrior's breakout performance at Survival of the Sickest, and the other team being the tandem of Toshiaki Kawada & Samson Fuyuki as they tore through the competition with a mean streak en route to the finals. Only one team would be able to win the tournament and go on to challenge the champions!

AFTERSTORY: ! They did it! Against all odds, they managed to earn one more shot at the Midnight Express. After Survival of the Sickest, they were determined to not be denied and now they would have their third shot at the Midnight Express for the tag team championships. Would the third time be the charm for Power Warrior & Genichiro Tenryu?

PRESTORY: After a surprising clean sweep at Survival of the Sickest, The Beautiful People were irate and demanded a six woman tag against 3 of their opponents from that night. They wanted revenge and the challenge was accepted..
6 Woman Tag Team Match: Jessica James, Su Yung, & Sumie Sakai def. Madison Rayne, Maryse, & Brittney Savage (18:21) when Yung pinned Savage
AFTERSTORY: Su Yung picks up her first major pinfall as the trio defeats the Beautiful People once again! After the match, Brittney nailed Yung with a facecrusher before exiting the ring so it's clear that this grudge is not quite over.

PRESTORY: Last month at Survival of the Sickest saw a thrilling showdown in the junior division come down to the final minutes. Following that bout sees this tag team match created which sees Alex Shelley & Dean Malenko team up to take on Kidman & Rey Mysterio. Shelley & Malenko were unhappy with Kidman's victory last month and have had their share of problems with Mysterio and now they wanted revenge.

AFTERSTORY: Shelley & Malenko pick up the big win as their ongoing rivalry with their opposition continues to rage on. After the match, Shelley & Malenko celebrated their victory in the back with fellow victor Austin Aries, who vowed to go on to win the junior championship later tonight.

PRESTORY: A fatal four way match of top contenders in the womens division was organized involving Angelina Love, Rain, Nevaeh, and Kelly Kelly. Rain is coming off a breakout performance last month while Nevaeh has been vying for a title shot for the past several months. Angelina has as well while Kelly impressed in September's Queen's Cup. Now was another opportunity for all four to impress and work their way towards a title shot.

AFTERSTORY: Rain continues her massive momentum coming off of her masterful performance at Survival of the Sickest with a major victory! Rain again was able to outsmart the competition and take advantage of an opportunity. All four women will compete in the upcoming Beat the Clock challenge that will determine the title challengers for Final Showdown.

PRESTORY: The Big Show reigned supreme at Survival of the Sickest but the Great Muta's sole elimination was impressive enough to grant him a shot at the unstoppable Big Show and his International Championship.
International Championship Match: The Big Show def. The Great Muta (13:34) via surfboard stretch submission to RETAIN the championship!
AFTERSTORY: Muta came closer than anyone could've imagined after Big Show dominated the first five minutes. Muta came back with a vengeance and nailed Show with a steel chair to the head knocking him down in perfect position for the follow-up Moonsault from the top rope. It was an all time great near fall as Show was able to kickout and then go on to victory.

PRESTORY: At Survival of the Sickest, Takako Inoue made an impression when she was the one who was able to eliminate Daizee Haze from the battle. Haze was not pleased with that happening and challenged Inoue to a match for Eve of Destruction.

AFTERSTORY: Daizee avenges elimination and vanqusihes Inoue in impressive fashion. Daizee continues her hot streak that she's developed over the last several months.

PRESTORY: After the Wildcard opener at Survival of the Sickest, Kaz Hayashi challenged Kurt Angle to a singles match that would take place at Eve of Destruction. Angle welcomed the challenge and gladly accepted.

AFTERSTORY: Absolutely dominant was Kurt Angle, who made a major statement with his quick win here. Angle will be competing in one of the championship Beat the Clock challenges and if he continues at this pace, he could very well find himself competing for whichever championship he decides to go after.

PRESTORY: Survival of the Sickest didn't seem to settle things between Angel Blue and Mercedes Martinez. After Angel pinned Mercedes in a tag back at the Ultimate Encounter, they met at Halloween Havoc in a showstealing encounter that caught everyone's attention. Mercedes' led a team over Angel's at Survival of the Sickest and now Angel wanted another shot at Mercedes in a one on one match. Their Halloween Havoc classic saw Blue almost come away with the win only for Mercedes to get an out of nowhere victory and now they would meet once again.

AFTERSTORY: Once again Mercedes is victorious in another top notch battle! Once again Angel thought she had the match won after hitting the Deja Blue but Mercedes would hit the fisherman's buster similar to the way she won the last time. Only this time, Angel kicked out so Mercedes dropped her with a second fisherman's buster to secure the victory. The rivalry with these two has been an intense one without a doubt and it remains to be seen if it's quite over.

PRESTORY: Necro Butcher destroyed the competition in the Chamber of Horrors to earn himself a hardcore deathmatch championship shot. Necro teamed up with Foley at Survival of the Sickest and now they would brawl with one another like only they could in the hardcore environment.
Hardcore Deathmatch Championship Match: Necro Butcher def. Mick Foley (13:02) with the Tiger Driver to become the NEW Champion!
AFTERSTORY: And Necro finds himself the new champion! After a wild brawl, Necro begins his third reign as champion and now Foley will have to beat the clock to get the first shot which goes for anyone that wants to step in the ring with Necro.

PRESTORY: After Athena lost the women's championship in a triple threat bout at Cyber Saturday, she vowed to earn an eventual rematch. While Chyna won the match defeating Athena & Beth Phoenix, Athena challenged Beth to prove herself at Halloween Havoc but Beth was victorious. After an encounter at Survival of the Sickest, a rematch was set to take place at Eve of Destruction as Athena had once again challenged the Glamazon.

AFTERSTORY: This time, Athena was successful! Athena took down Beth for a major victory for herself. Now it will be up to beating the clock to see who earns the next shot at the women's championship but Athena will for sure remain in the title hunt in the coming months.

PRESTORY: After a dominating performance at Survival of the Sickest from Kevin Randleman, Bob Sapp agreed to give him a title shot for securing his team the victory..
Octagon Championship Match: Bob Sapp def. Kevin Randleman via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:55 of round 1 to RETAIN the championship!
AFTERSTORY: A shockingly sudden win from Sapp who made quick work of Randleman and now his next challenger will be determined by the Beat the Clock challenge later this week.

PRESTORY: The women's tag title scene has been hot for the last several months. Marti Belle & Jazz regained the titles at Halloween Havoc while the Jumping Bomb Angels became #1 contenders. The JBAs made an impressive statement at Survival of the Sickest being victorious. Now the Bomb Angels would get their shot at the reigning champions. Could the original women's tag team finally become champions or would the champions prove their worth with a successful defense over one of their toughest challenges to date?
Women's Tag Team Championships Match: Marti Belle & Jazz def. The Jumping Bomb Angels (25:55) when Jazz pinned Yamazaki after an elbow to RETAIN the championships!
AFTERSTORY: What a battle! Marti & Jazz retain the championships in a back and forth encounter that could've gone either way. The Bomb Angels came close on several occasions but Belle & Jazz excelled in their teamwork to overcome the immense challenge.

PRESTORY: Last month at Survival of the Sickest, we witnessed an even more vicious side of Kana. Kana brutalized her archrival Gail Kim with three kicks to the head that knocked her back out of action and then avenged her first defeat by knocking Ayako Hamada out as well. Serena Deeb, who scored the only elimination for their team in that match, vowed to stand up for her fallen friends by challenging Kana to a one on one bout. Many questioned the move with Deeb's own history when she herself was injured shortly after her debut back in mid-2011 but Serena was confident and determined. Jessie McKay would accompany Deeb to the ring for her showdown with Kana that would take place at Eve of Destruction. Serena was focused and determined while Kana was poised to maintain her mean streak for what promised to be a memorable matchup.

AFTERSTORY: Serena did it! Against all odds with an inspirational performance, Serena put up a valiant fight against Kana and caught everyone by surprise by defeating Kana decisively! After Kana controlled the majority of the match, Serena mounted a major comeback and just kept coming. Serena threw everything she had and eventually connected with a superplex that left Kana dazed. As Kana slowly returned to her feet, Serena drilled her with one perfectly timed elbow right to the face that dropped Kana in a heap to the mat as the final blow. Serena followed up with a cover and scored one of her biggest victories to date! Jessie McKay, who cheered Serena on from ringside all match, was quick to pull Deeb from the ring to safety and they celebrated up the ramp with their hands held high while Kana began to recover in the ring in disbelief. Kana will likely remain deadset on revenge but Serena did exactly what she set out to do and avenged the beatings dished out to Gail and Hamada. And Serena & McKay along with Gail & Hamada couldn't be happier with the victory. What a feeling!

PRESTORY: Victoria has had a great last several months as she became a record 11 time women's champion winning the title back from Chyna at Halloween Havoc. After a dominating performance at Survival of the Sickest from the champ, she would give Chyna her rematch at Eve of Destruction.
Women's Championship Match: Victoria def. Chyna (11:26) via Widow's Peak CRITICAL to RETAIN the championship!!
AFTERSTORY: The domination continues as Victoria decisively retains the gold. Now it will be up to whomever beats the clock to be the next challenger and there is a long list of challengers with everyone gunning for Victoria including upcoming debuts.


PRESTORY: Earlier tonight, Austin Aries defeated Jeff Hardy to earn the right to challenge AJ Styles for the Junior Championship in the night's semi-main event. A shot that Aries felt he was owed since losing the title in a triple threat match at Cyber Saturday. Aries was unable to get the shot at Halloween Havoc and found himself fighting it out with the division at Survival of the Sickest. Now he was determined to shoot straight back to the top. Only the champion AJ Styles stood in his way. Now the two would face off in a blockbuster contest!
Junior Championship Match: AJ Styles def. Austin Aries (15:01) after a sitdown dominator to RETAIN the championship!!
AFTERSTORY: AJ Styles hangs on to the championship! Styles proves his initial win was no fluke by putting down Aries clean in the center of the ring in a spectacular match that saw both men put it all on the line. Aries landed a 450 across the back while Styles connected the Spiral Tap only for Aries to reach the ropes. In the end Styles was able to drop Aries in the center for the win. After the match, Alex Shelley & Dean Malenko rushed the ring to spoil AJ's celebration. Shelley and Malenko put the boots to Styles after an ambush from behind. Aries got back to his feet and joined them. The trio posed with their arms raised until Sin Cara came to the ring with Rey Mysterio. Aries, Shelley, and Malenko bailed as they checked on Styles in the ring. The junior division continues to heat up as all will be vying to beat the clock to earn the next shot at AJ's championship.

PRESTORY: The Guerrero Cup tag team tournament culminated with Power Warrior & Genichiro Tenryu emerging the victors. Their whirlwind year had found them at another shot at the tag team championships held by the Midnight Express. It would be their third shot after their first came from winning the Real World Tag League back in May and a rematch earned in September. The Midnights bested them twice and continued their dominant reign while it looked like P-Warrior & Tenryu's quest had finished. However now at the end of the year, they've battled back through everything for one more shot! The Midnight Express would have to prepare for another enormous challenge while the challengers geared up for a make or break situation. It all came down to this, a blockbuster tag team title defense in the main event of Eve of Destruction!
World Tag Team Championships Match: Power Warrior & Genichiro Tenryu def. The Midnight Express (17:42) when Power Warrior pinned Eaton after a lariat to become the NEW CHAMPIONS!!!
AFTERSTORY: What a way to cap off their year! Power Warrior & Genichiro Tenryu finally did what they had been unable to do and that was defeat the Midnight Express to capture the FPR World Tag Team Championships. They had defeated practically everyone imaginable after coming out on top in a 64 team league and now a 32 team tournament that there is no doubt they earned and deserved this moment. After a close back and forth fight, it was Power Warrior's lariat that knocked Bobby Eaton silly and put him down for the count. The crowd erupted in cheers for the new champions. They couldn't ask for a better last two months after Power Warrior's unforgettable Survival of the Sickest comeback, the tag tournament win and now capturing the gold. After the match, the Road Warriors and others hit the ring to join the celebration, holding up the new champions who proudly raised their newly-won championships. The Midnights were out of it on the outside and now the first challengers will be determined via beat the clock for Final Showdown. Pyros exploded for the celebration of the new champions with the closing shot of Power Warrior & Tenryu posing with the gold. Hellraiser!

©FPR Eve of Destruction 2012. FPR's next event will be Final Showdown this coming weekend and will feature all championships on the line as Beat the Clock challenges in the next few days will determine the challengers! Final Showdown will close out the year as FPR heads into 2013 marking 10 years since it all began as FPZ. Final Showdown will promise to be a major way to finish the year as always!
