PRESTORY: One of the traditions of FPR's Great American Bash has been the women's battle royal. Established in 2008, it's been a launching point for many to make their names especially relative newcomers. This year, the match is mostly comprised of veterans looking to shoot back to the top or recent top contenders wanting to prove their worthy of another title shot. Entering the match includes record 11 time champ Victoria who is looking to do whatever she can to get back to the title picture, Athena who enjoyed great success last year but has not been able to regain the gold, Meiko Satomura & Angel Blue who both competed for the title recently but came up short. Madison Rayne, who has promised to bring the Beautiful People back to the top, Sumie Sakai who is looking to make a name for herself after some standout showings earlier in the year along with former tag team champions Serena Deeb & Jessie McKay. The battle promises to be a good one!

AFTERSTORY: Athena makes a huge statement and takes a major leap back up the rankings with her victory. Serena impressed early on by eliminating two top contenders before Athena took the match by storm. At the conclusion, Athena and McKay should hands after the match as McKay then left the ring while Athena celebrated around the ring.

PRESTORY: After a roller coaster last few months for Austin Aries, coming close to the top of the mountain on different occasions, he rejoins his associates Dean Malenko & Alex Shelley for the Great American Bash in a match against longtime rivals, Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, & Sin Cara!

6 Man Tag Team Match: Austin Aries, Alex Shelley, & Dean Malenko def. Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman & Sin Cara (26:45) when Shelley forced Cara to submit
AFTERSTORY: Aries leads the Resistance to a victory in a stellar match! The trio stood tall with their arms raised, proclaiming that they were truly the most dominant stable in FPR.

PRESTORY: Jessica James and Angelina Love have put on a series of classic matches over the year. Very even contests but after Jessica took the win in their last match, Angelina would have none of it and attacked James until Jamilia Craft ran out for the save. That backed Angelina off and set up a potential tag team match. That would come to fruition here at the Great American Bash when Angelina revealed her partner to be Claudia! Claudia's history with Jamilia Craft is well documented and she had not been seen since their tag team imploded earlier this year. Now they'd meet again as would Jessica and Angelina for the Bash!

AFTERSTORY: Craft gets one over on Claudia once again! Jessica and Craft escape with the victory leaving Claudia dejected on the mat and Angelina in rage at ringside.

PRESTORY: After last month's tag team match, things heated up between Mercedes Martinez and Ivelisse Velez. They meet later in the night, while their partners from that night, Rain & Nevaeh will meet in the ring first at the Great American Bash.

AFTERSTORY: Rain picks up the impressive win in a very competitive match. Nevaeh looked to have the match one but Rain was able to counter in to her Rain Drop DDT for the win. Both women will be looking to move up the rankings with their eyes on the upcoming Queen's Cup tournament in September.

Texas Tornado Match: Harlem Heat def. Public Enemy (17:05) when Stevie pinned Grunge
STORY: When the Public Enemy were unable to make the Summer Spectacular tag team tournament, they issued a challenge to any team willing to accept it and that challenge was taken on by Harlem Heat for a tornado tag brawl. The match was wild and chaotic lasting longer than most matches of it's kind making it all the more memorable. In the end it was Harlem Heat picking up the impactful victory.

STORY: Two of the standouts from the Road 2 GAB Tournament were selected to face off in what ended up a classic back and forth match. Punk came so close to another shot at Stone Cold by making it to the finals while Bryan was just outside the finals. Bryan hit Punk with everything he had but Punk kept coming back, eventually finishing Bryan with the Anaconda Vice in a match sure to do good for both men.

PRESTORY: With the ongoing saga involving Ayako Hamada, Gail Kim, Madison Eagles, and Kana, they've faced off in all sorts of combinations over the past year. Now FPR management has decided to toss all four into one match with an all out every woman for herself fatal four way! All four remain top contenders and whoever would win this one would be sure to make a statement in the women's division.

Fatal 4 Way Match: Ayako Hamada def. Gail Kim, Kana, & Madison Eagles (10:28) via AP Cross on Gail
AFTERSTORY: Hamada pulls off the big win! When push came to shove, the longtime friends Hamada & Gail ended up going at it themselves with only one able to come out on top. With their adversaries dispatched outside the ring, Hamada finished off Gail with her AP Cross. Afterwards, Hamada was quick to help Gail back to her feet and raise her arm. Eagles and Kana shrugged the two off and made their exit.

STORY: With Power Warrior's big four way victory back at Redemption and then avenging his previous loss to Goldberg last month, he wanted to go even bigger and do something no one's been able to do. He challenged the Big Show for the international championship in hopes of toppling the Giant, perhaps to match his former partner Tenryu's momentum and success. It would be no easy task but would take place at the Great American Bash!

PRESTORY: Fresh tag team The West Coast Connection had heads turning when they defeated the Beautiful People tandem last month, a win so impressive it shot them up the ranks into the open slot for a title shot against the women's tag team champions. Marti & Jazz have managed to overcome and stay on top no matter what is in their way and now they face a new challenge in Su Yung & Tracy Taylor!

Women's Tag Team Championships Match: Marti Belle & Jazz def. Su Yung & Tracy Taylor (21:18) when Jazz pinned Taylor after a fisherman's buster to RETAIN the championships!
AFTERSTORY: The champs retain in a great fight that saw excellent teamwork from both teams. Both used impressive double team maneuvers but in the end it was the champions' tag team experience that helped them edge out the win and retain the titles. Su & Tracy will surely be looking for another shot at the gold.

PRESTORY: Last month, Mercedes Martinez & Nevaeh defeated Rain & Ivelisse Velez. After the match, Ivelisse was immediately on the attack on Mercedes, tackling her out of the ring and starting a ringside brawl that had to be separated by their partners and officials. It was clear the match sparked some tension between the two and now they would face one on one at the Great American Bash!

AFTERSTORY: Mercedes wins the battle in a tough fight. Ivelisse left upset as Mercedes arm was raised and we will likely see these two in a ring again sometime in the future. Both women enter the Queen's Cup in September as well.

PRESTORY: Dusty Rhodes had a hell of a run in the Road 2 GAB tournament with his biggest and most notable victory coming in a bloody brawl over the Great Muta. Muta is not one to take kindly to having his plans ruined and he made sure to cost Dusty later in the tournament. A rematch between the two was inevitable and was signed for the Great American Bash!

AFTERSTORY: Dusty pulls it off again! Able to outmaneuver Muta and surprise him with a small package after another war, Muta was left in a rage as Dusty celebrated his victory up the entry way.

PRESTORY: The Rock and Brock Lesnar have been battling over the last few months. Things escalated at Bloodlines when Brock defeated Rock to earn a title shot later in the night. Rock would return by night's end to engage in another brawl with Lesnar. As a result, the two were signed for a street fight at the Great American Bash!

AFTERSTORY: The match began and was quickly to the outside where weapons were thrown in short order. Back in the ring, Lesnar dominated with much of the damage done and was able to put Rock down after a sprint of a brawl.

PRESTORY: The Summer Spectacular tag team tournament was taken by storm and by surprise by Teijo Khan & Shaska Whatley who came out of the stacked tournament as the winners. Khan & Whatley were as impressive as ever throughout the tournament and proved they were worthy of a tag team title shot. The champions have been unstoppable on a major roll all year but now they'd face a new challenge at the Great American Bash!

World Tag Team Championships Match: Hulk Hogan & John Cena def. Shaska Whatley & Teijo Khan (20:09) when Hogan pinned Khan after Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment to RETAIN the championships!!
AFTERSTORY: The champions triumph once again! Despite coming very close, the challengers were unable to pick up the win and the titles after a hard fought battle. Whatley & Khan will now be looking to remain in contention while Hogan & Cena await their next challenge. The champs closed things out with a post-match posedown celebration for the fans.

PRESTORY: The 64 man Road 2 GAB tournament provided a major shocker when Jack Swagger emerged as the winner in the finals, defeating CM Punk. A new star was born seemingly instantly as the Road 2 GAB has always proven to be a major boost to several careers. Swagger's road to the Bash was as impressive as could be with victories over the likes of the Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and last year's winner Big Bubba Rogers in the semi-finals. Swagger made enemies of those names and now would be focused on one goal and that was Stone Cold Steve Austin. Swagger was a new challenge but Austin has remained unstoppable for a year and a half now. Regardless, it promised to be an interesting championship bout for the Great American Bash!

Worlds Heavyweight Championship Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin def. Jack Swagger (9:12) to RETAIN the championship
AFTERSTORY: Austin keeps on rolling with a victory over new contender Jack Swagger but immediately after the match, Austin was ambushed by Antonio Cesaro! Swagger recovered and joined Cesaro in beating down Stone Cold. The attack continued until suddenly #1 contender Genichiro Tenryu ran out and made the save! Tenryu faces Austin next month at Final Burns via winning the King of the Ring tournament and now he showed up at the champion's aid. Swagger & Cesaro bailed and remained at ringside to issue a challenge for a tag team match. Austin and Tenryu agreed to accept, becoming an unlikely duo to fend off the out of nowhere tandem of Swagger and Cesaro right now!

AFTERSTORY: In the end, Swagger *does* pin Austin! Despite coming up short in the title match, Swagger looked to make up for it here in a major way, regaining any lost momentum. Swagger and Cesaro proved to be a formidable duo while Austin & Tenryu had a few miscommunciations. The loss weighs heavily on both champion and challenger heading into their showdown at Final Burns while Swagger and Cesaro look to ride the wave of both of their newly found momentum.

PRESTORY: AJ Styles has been hellbent on going through everyone in his path en route back to the junior championship that he lost at WrestleMania. He had planned to march through Yoshinobu Kanemaru last month at Bloodlines but it was not to be. Kanemaru came prepared in his first major match and shocked Styles with a crushing defeat. Kanemaru had made a name for himself quickly but Styles wasn't done with him and demanded a rematch. Kanemaru accepted and a match was set between the two to take place under Last Man Standing rules at the Great American Bash!

AFTERSTORY: Now, Styles has accomplished what he set out to do! After a hellacious battle, AJ finally put Kanemaru down to where he could not take any more. Styles landed shot after shot but Kanemaru kept getting back up until one final enzugiri sent him to the mat for good. With the win, Styles has cemented himself as the number one contender for the junior championship and will be getting a shot at the title depending on the outcome of the title match later on.

PRESTORY: Last month, Sara Del Rey finally became FPR Women's Champion for the first time, something she had been setting out to do since her FPR debut several years ago. Del Rey won the title in a four way elimination bout in dominant fashion as she eliminated all of her opponents including her longtime rival and now former champion Daizee Haze. At the Great American Bash, Daizee gets her rematch in hopes of regaining the gold from her ultimate rival!

Women's Championship Match: Daizee Haze def. Sara Del Rey (9:48) with a northern lights suplex to become the NEW Champion!!
AFTERSTORY: And Daizee is back on top! Del Rey's victory last month may have made her a bit overconfident going into this one and Daizee was able to take full advantage to become the new women's champion! Needless to say, this latest chapter of their rivalry is far from over.

PRESTORY: At Redemption, Kotaro Suzuki capitalzied on a string of success by capturing the junior championship but it wouldn't last long as Robert Evans regained the gold at Bloodlines last month. Now the series and rivalry over the title would look to be settled in a two out of three falls match with only one emerging as the champion!

AFTERSTORY: Despite the early lead, Suzuki was unable to maintain and Robert Evans was able to pull a surprising come from behind victory! Evans has proved to be a worthy champion a second time and continues his excellent 2013. Now this sets the stage for a WrestleMania rematch when Evans defends against AJ Styles at Final Burns!

PRESTORY: Starting at WrestleMania, Ric Flair stunned everyone when he threw himself into the mix of the hardcore deathmatch ring. Perhaps even more surprising was how close he came to victory but the shocks would not stop there. Flair would first upset Abdullah the Butcher and then win the hardcore deathmatch championship from Raven at Redemption. What ensued was several brawls between the two factions led by Flair and Raven. Things escalated at Bloodlines when Flair once again stopped Raven in the hardcore deathmatch ring and aftewards, a Horsemen beatdown looked to take place when the Flock put a stop to that, starting an all out war in and around the ring. The recent happenings has led to the Great American Bash where the two factions would square off inside War Games! The Horsemen vs The Flock!

War Games: Raven, Perry Saturn, W*NG Kanemura, & Toru Owashi def. Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard, & Jeff Jarrett (15:52) when Owashi used a camel clutch on Tully
AFTERSTORY: Raven's Flock defeat The Horsemen in War Games! In the end it was Raven's hired gun Toru Owashi taking out Tully Blanchard to win the war for his team. The Horsemen left the cage defeated with Flair clutching his hardcore deathmatch championship knowing the Flock will still be after the gold. Raven and the Flock posed inside the War Games ring as the show came to a close.
